Who is eligible to attend the National Forum?
Effective Spring 2025, the AEU National Forum will be open only to active customers of AEU, insurance brokers, and regulatory agencies serving the maritime industry.

Is there a registration fee?
The AEU National Forum is open and complimentary to eligible attendees, which include active customers of AEU, insurance brokers, and regulatory agencies serving the maritime industry.
Individuals who register but do not attend the event (or notify us of their cancellation prior to April 30) will incur a $250 no-show penalty. An invoice for $250 will be emailed to no-shows after the National Forum.
Do I have to pay for my hotel room?
Yes, you are responsible for the cost of your hotel room. You are also responsible for reserving your hotel room. You may stay at the hotel where the event is held (see the "How do I book my room?" section) or you may choose your own hotel in the Charlotte area.
How do I book my hotel room?
We have a special rate at The Westin Charlotte available to National Forum attendees. The rate is only available if booked by Monday, April 14, 2025 or until our room block is full. You can book your hotel room by clicking on the "Hotel" tab at the top of the page or by clicking on the link below. Alternatively, you may choose your own hotel and make a reservation with that hotel.
I want to book additional hotel nights. What do I do?
You can book additional nights by contacting the hotel directly to extend your stay after you have made your booking using the "Hotel" tab at the top of the page. Their number is 704-375-2600. If you stay in Charlotte beyond the dates of the Forum, you will also be responsible for assuming the cost for those nights. The group rate is not guaranteed for any additional nights.
When should I plan on arriving?
The General Session will begin at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
Check-in time at the hotel is 4:00pm.
What is the attire for National Forum ?
The attire for all National Forum sessions is business casual: Open collar or polo shirt. No jeans or shorts. No jacket required.
The attire for the Welcome Reception and Activity on Tuesday evening is casual: Jeans and shorts are acceptable.
What is the cancellation policy?
Registrants will incur a $250 no-show penalty if they register but do not attend the event and do not cancel their registration prior to April 30, 2025.
Are guests allowed to attend?
Yes. You are welcome to bring a spouse/significant other to the Welcome Reception and Activity on Tuesday, May 6, as well as all meals (including the Safety Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, May 7). They must be registered to attend.
Will there be a mobile app?
Yes. The mobile app will be released the week before the National Forum starts. Registrants will receive an email when it is available to download.
Will the AEU National Forum presentations be available?
Yes, attendees will receive an email when they are available.
When does registration close?
Registration will close at 11:59pm CST on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
