Speaker Bio

Chad Pregracke, CNN Hero of the Year and founder of Living Lands & Waters (LL&W), started his river cleanup mission when we was just 23. Growing up on the Mississippi River, Chad was driven to act when he saw the growing pollution. His commitment to safety led him to build the world’s only “industrial strength” non-profit river cleanup, coordinating a fleet of vessels to remove 13 million pounds of trash while maintaining an impeccable safety record.

With over 125,000 volunteers and the leadership of five barges, three towboats, and more, Chad has led the charge to restore America’s rivers. Recognized by President George W. Bush as a "Point of Light" and celebrated by all four living former U.S. Presidents, his work embodies perseverance, teamwork, and a relentless dedication to safety.
