Jeffrey Threadgill serves as the Vice President of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) for Rio Marine, Inc., bringing more than 20 years of experience in occupational safety, regulatory compliance, and operational risk management across multiple high-hazard industries. He also serves on the National Loss Control Advisory Council for the American Equity Underwriters.
Jeffrey began his career in laboratory environments after completing his college education, where he developed and implemented safety policies and procedures while working with high-powered laser systems, chemical etching solutions, and hazardous gases. This early experience built a strong foundation in hazard recognition, process safety, and risk mitigation. He later expanded his experience in chemical plant environments before transitioning into the maritime industry.
Over the past six years at Rio Marine, Jeffrey has helped strengthen the company’s safety culture across shipyards, dry docks, and offshore operations while leading the continued development of the company’s safety management systems.
Under his leadership, Rio Marine has received the National Safety Award from American Equity Underwriters for three consecutive years (2022, 2023, and 2024) and became the first maritime service company to achieve Responsible Carrier Program (RCP) status through the American Waterways Operators—a milestone reflecting the company’s commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Jeffrey believes safety is not simply a priority but a core leadership responsibility and a critical component of effective business management.
