Don Martin is an executive safety and risk management professional with four decades of experience. He is a globally recognized expert in Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) Prevention. He has deep experience in the design and implementation of environmental health and safety (EHS) management systems, risk management programs, fatality prevention programs, and organizational culture change initiatives for companies worldwide. Don works with senior leaders and executive management teams, building strategic solutions to reduce SIF risk vulnerability and to improve safety culture and performance. During his tenure in industry, he worked as an EHS Director in the petrochemical refining industry and the pulp and paper industry sectors. He is currently a Principal with dss+, a global consulting firm focused on sustainable operations.

Don earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a minor in Chemistry from Sam Houston State University and a Master of Public Health in Occupational Health and Aerospace Medicine from the University of Texas. He has maintained a Certified Safety Professional (CSP #7060) designation since 1984, and was a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH #4491) from 1989 to 2018.
