Description

Despite countless procedures and endless training cycles, employees still suffer harm and loss doing things they know they shouldn’t be doing. The next generation of workplace safety practices must reflect a renewed understanding of human behavior. It must account for advancements in neuroscience that help explain many of the frustrations we have in the administration of workplace safety. In this session, we will share information supported by groundbreaking research that can be used to take the next step in changing safety performance.

  • Explain why a more complete understanding of human behavior is required to advance the practice of safety
  • Describe why leadership principles, and not management practices, are the key to reducing at-risk behaviors
  • Develop strategies needed to more effectively influence real-time decision making
